Now that the dust has settled on this year’s Ossyfest, we thought it would be great to look back on some of our highlights of the event that saw over 100 artists perform at 12 venues across 4 days in Oswaldtwistle.
DJ Matty B
We couldn’t start a highlights post with anyone other than DJ Matty B! The talented youngster stole the show as part of our Thursday night pre-show at The Black Dog. His incredible tunes and infectious energy had people upstanding on benches, as he directed them like the conductor of an orchestra. Truly a perfect way to open the festival weekend and a true superstar in the making who we would love to have perform again in the future!

Boogie at the White Bull
On Friday afternoon Kathy Griffiths brought her incredible vocal performance to the White Bull and before long, the crowd were up on their feet for a boogie. While being one of the smaller venues of the weekend, the atmosphere in the room was pure joy.

The Ruby Tuesdays bringing the house down
On Saturday night with Ossyfest at it’s peak, the Stanhill Club saw 5 incredible rock bands ending with a headline performance by The Ruby Tuesdays in front of a full house. Well known in the local area, the quartet brought their fantastic original music, limitless energy and the occasional witty remark to a crowd that were in the palm of their hand. One of the few bands who have performed at every Ossyfest to date, and one that we hope will stick around for many years to come.

Local legends stripped back at Tap
After the high energy chaos of Saturday night, Sunday afternoon offered something different but equally as exciting to those who managed to get into Tap Select, courtesy of Saint Michael performing a stripped back set that can’t quite be called acoustic, but it was pretty close! After a headline slot in 2023, the lads requested a smaller more intimate performance, and boy did they deliver. Around 50 people were wedged into Tap Select with barely enough room to raise a glass but the space didn’t matter once the opening chords to ‘Open Up’ got struck!

We’ve only called out a few moments here but the weekend was chock full of them. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all artists, venues, volunteers, suppliers for their time. It takes a huge effort to put an event like this together for such a great cause. The money raised will go directly to supporting Free Music Lessons Charity with their aims of providing accessible music tuition in the local area. A final enormous thank you to everyone who came out to watch some incredible live music, at some of our amazing local venues, without you none of this would be possible!
Roll on Ossyfest 2025!
