In 2025, OSSYFEST ventured into pastures new with a Saturday afternoon show that took place indoors at Oswaldtwistle Mills (Ossy Mills). The stage was set up next to Angelica’s restaurant. A new partnership for OSSYFEST, with plans afoot to expand the show at the venue in 2026.
Kayleigh Hall opened the show with her unique brand of audience engagement, powerful vocals and songs from the heart. Her warmth and genuine charisma had the gathering crowd in awe and suitably warmed up for the afternoon of brilliant music ahead.
Mya The Bee made her professional solo debut at Ossy Mills. The 13-year-old vocalist from Southport (her dad lives in Ossy) took to the stage, introduced to a warm crowd by Kayleigh. 2 ballads later, the audience were in raptures. Mya recently played Matilda in the musical stage show in Southport, but this was her solo debut, one of the excellent incentives from OSSYFEST to promote and showcase new and emerging talent.
Sarah Tutin blasted onto the stage with her tenacity and brassy stage presence, playing hit after hit, and getting the growing Ossy Mills crowd on their feet and rocking their heads to Sarah’s vibrant, poppy energetic ballads. Brilliantly engaging with the crowd and continuing the warm vibe throughout the Mills, passers by and shoppers stopping and putting their baskets on the floor to take in the show.
Christina Ceramics soft raw vocals blended with beautiful musical arrangements followed next. The folk prog rock soundscapes of Christina Ceramics wowed the Ossy Mills afternoon audience, toe tapping and the odd dance breaking out, a perfect companion for the final act of the day.
Mora & The Fabulous Wonderfuls came on stage with bundles of energy. From the first song to the last, the band brought the party, and the folk in Ossy Mills were dancing all over. Mora’s powerful vocals belted out anthem after anthem. The party mood was a fitting finale to a wonderful afternoon.
Mya The Bee – “It was so good to play, I was nervous but it was fun to play somewhere so unique, I’d only ever been shopping there, I remember the big pear drop and the old play area, when I was younger, it is surreal to sing there, especially for my debut.”
“I love how OSSYFEST opens the doors for the whole community. Venues, the audiences, the volunteers and the musicians, it made Oswaldtwistle feel like one whole inclusive community for the weekend. It was a great weekend and I was so proud to be part of it.”
